It all started with my Open Water Course in Koh Tao, Thailand. I was hooked from the first breath I took underwater - this magical, peaceful world with all these different colors and creatures made me forget everything else. It felt like an addiction.
I wanted to go under the water again and again. This is how my future dream was created. After a few diving holidays I became a rescue diver and returned to Koh Tao on a gap year and started my Divemaster training.
This time it made me realize that I don't want to continue diving just as a hobby. I wanted to become a diving instructor and make diving my profession.
Unfortunately, COVID got in the way, so I postponed my instructor's class. This time I bridged to Germany, continuing my office job, then working again in HR at a health insurance company until I had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to change my entire life last year.
I heard that Euro-Divers Maldives is looking for a German speaking instructor. So I applied for this job, quit my job in Germany, went to Egypt, finally did the Instructor course and here I am, working in heaven."

I was working as an animator in one of the resorts in South Male Atoll. The first time I tried scuba diving I absolutely fell in love, so every day off I went diving.
After winning two contracts with the resort, I became certified as a divemaster and am looking for work in that position.
I was lucky enough to meet people from Euro-Divers who helped me to complete the instructor course and later work.
I always look forward to getting in the water because I never know what I will see this time.
The underwater world is full of wonders!
I feel happy to have my passion as a job and share it with others.

This trip changed everything. Since 2014, I have visited more than 50 countries on three continents.
Diving entered my life in 2015 when I decided to finish the Open Water Course in Thailand – at that time I spent all my money on it and had to hitchhike from Thailand to Russia for 1 month! Besides Thailand, I gained experience in Egypt, Colombia, Spain and Vietnam.
I worked online during those years and somehow I started to feel that I needed something more – to fill my life with something positive, I signed up for a scuba diving course in the Canary Islands.
It took me 2 months to realize that I wanted to be an instructor – after I got a loan, I returned to Thailand a few months later to finish my IDC.
I had an amazing time in Thailand working with and in large groups, I moved to Vietnam for a while before getting a job in the Maldives with Euro-Divers.
2019, 2020, 2021 – still in the Maldives, enjoying what I love most.
Diving brings me peace, teaching brings me joy to see my students learn to dive, experience a new world, improve their skills and overcome their fears.
If you want to dive, do it! Find the instructor you feel comfortable with, study the theory and dive, dive, dive – different conditions, new emotions and new friends – you'll love it.

In the sunny south (Egypt) I got to know and love the incredible underwater world during an introductory dive.
I will never forget my first dive - certainly not my diving instructor at the time 😉 It was an experience you would never want to live without - on the contrary - it was instantly addictive.
Unfortunately, as usual, the vacation ended too soon so my husband and I decided to fly back there 2 weeks later.
We were so excited about the underwater world and life there that we decided to migrate there and become diving guides and instructors.
The taste for diving, for fish, for snails - in short, for the whole underwater world - grew with each dive.
That was over 15 years ago, I worked in the Maldives, Thailand, Egypt and I still enjoy every second underwater.
At first I worked in the diving center of the office, but I quickly realized that I wanted to accompany visitors not only above the water, but also under the water. So I took the Divemaster training.
During this training I took several classes, including beginner classes that I recognized myself in when I put my head under water for the first time.
This made my decision to go one step further and complete the instructor's course easier.
My great passion is capturing snails on film and photos. I'm just fascinated by the diversity of species, the brightness of the colors and the search and discovery of these sea creatures.
I can only strongly recommend everyone to try diving to experience this lightness, this calmness, this harmony. To be a part of this very special world for the first time.

I studied hotel management and ended up working for several years in different hotels/resorts on the Italian coast where I spend my days diving and earning my Dive Master rating.
Right after my DM training I decided to move to Egypt where I got my instructor license during a 4 month internship with a wonderful Italian diving company.
After becoming a diving instructor, I worked in different places in Egypt, Maldives, Thailand, Philippines until I ended up in Oman. In the Maldives, I had the opportunity to develop as a dive center manager.
I chose to stay in Oman because of the pristine dive site, beaches and many unknown dive sites! Here we don't have mass tourism and the country itself is impressive and the safest place to live.
It's been 10 years and I still love spending every day teaching, diving, guiding and supporting the environment. Over the years our team has managed to achieve different big goals such as being the only dive center in the Middle East approved by the UK Ministry of Defense and this has been made possible mainly because of our safety first approach and customer friendly atmosphere us. visitors.
The biggest challenge we have right now (like many others) is to survive in the times of Covid, however we remain positive and optimistic that tourism will recover sooner and that we can dive with our international friends as we did before Covid.
For those who hesitate to dive: I suggest you start slowly and first enjoy a breakfast in our pool and after you have mastered the few skills and breathing under the water, we will be happy to take you for diving from the beach or from the boat. – Karin

Bored and exhausted from the stressful life in the Netherlands, I quit my job as Back Office and Finance Manager and went on vacation to Curacao. On this tropical island, I took my first breath underwater with instructor Marc, who is still my life partner.
Diving reminded me of my childhood when I couldn't get enough of being in the water. I was instantly addicted to the feeling of moving freely and weightlessly in the water, surrounded by the most beautiful colors and creatures, listening only to my own breathing. It is a pleasure to guide visitors to experience this feeling too.
I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to combine my office and management skills with teaching and guiding dive guests.
Diving keeps me grounded, relaxed and connected to Mother Nature (myself). It helps me let go, put things in place and helps me stay focused and balanced in my role as a manager.
The golden rule of diving is 'never hold your breath', just like my saying 'Just B(-reath)', stay in the moment.
As part of Euro-Divers Women Diving Day, my invitation to all Women is: “in this stressful world where you always have to perform and the level of expectation is extremely high, do yourself a favor, do a gift to yourself

But diving wasn't the purpose of my trip at all, actually I wasn't even a diver yet, I became a scuba diver after falling in love with snorkeling in Egypt in 2012 while snorkeling with dolphins in the wild, I'm looking forward to becoming a swim guide with snorkelling, diving, got my lifeguard license and then PADI open water!
So I came back to Egypt and took my first giant step into the ocean and it was the beginning of a new journey... I can't forget to mention that my new instructor at that time would become my life partner in the future and still is 8 years then, so typical… I know!
I love freediving but scuba diving is another story for me, learning to scuba dive makes you discover parts of yourself that you didn't know, you learn to control things you never thought possible, I often see many of my students they discover how it can be calm underwater when in life they tend to be hyperactive and on the other hand I see calm or introverted people get excited and move like a torpedo underwater 🙂 so diving might not be for everyone but it's definitely worth discovering!
I have been a diving instructor for 7 years, working with Euro-Divers from Egypt and then they gave me the opportunity to work in the Maldives, where I still live. As a diver I never had any problems with this activity, not even because I was an instructor. Generally in the diving industry you will find yourself outnumbered by men than women, which can be intimidating at first, but hey! Men have already figured out that us girls can be just as good (if not better) as underwater 😉 !
The women's diving community is getting bigger and stronger every day, so join us!

I decided, after my studies in hospitality, to enter this exciting new world. I started my career with Club Med as Guest Service and had the opportunity to travel to some of the famous diving or snorkeling destinations.
So I ended up in the Maldives, Club Med Kani, where I was approached by one of the diving instructors to start my new addiction!
Diving has completely changed my life, as I was working at the front desk, I quit my job to start my diving career, since then I have been working in Mexico, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Maldives looking for new opportunities.
Diving was the most incredible challenge of my life for me, as I was not very confident in the water, I was afraid of the ocean!
I am the perfect example of someone who was afraid to take the plunge, the only advice I can give you is to believe in yourself.
Diving is for anyone who wants to go beyond their comfort zone and achieve what you think you are not capable of.
The best escape for the mind is to be underwater, but also to share this passion with others.
Especially us, as women, are always a bit more nervous about diving, but we have proven to be a great diving model."

But since I was young I knew I wanted to travel the world, be adventurous, have fun and meet people from all over the world. Unfortunately these jobs didn't give me the opportunity to do that, so after 5 years I decided to move to Thailand.
Even though I was surrounded by family and friends, had good jobs and a nice apartment to live in, I knew something was missing from my life.
I did my first dive in Koh Tao and I just fell in love with it and never stopped diving.
Diving has given me wings to fly away from a stable life and brings me happiness that I have never felt in my heart. Being in the ocean is like being at home to me.
Diving is a sport of passion.
It creates a community and there are no boundaries between people who like to share stories about it.
Becoming a diver gives you the opportunity to feel, experience, explore and admire this unique underwater world. Just jump in, open your eyes and take your first breath in the ocean.
And when you're surrounded by these beautiful aquatic creatures, you'll understand what it's like to fly in paradise.
Ocean diving is like diving in heaven – Vee

During that time I wanted to try something new and so I started diving and I will never forget my first underwater experience. At first I felt nervous, but at the same time very excited.
Diving is like meditation for me. I like the feeling of floating, relaxing, and quickly become addicted to it.
One day I decided to become a diving instructor and my diving career started in Cairns, Australia and Guam, USA.
The Maldives is home to the largest population of reef mantas in the world and at the time I had never seen a manta ray.
This is what brought me to the beautiful Maldives in 2017. I love all the underwater animals of course, but I would like to share the wonderful feeling of calmness and relaxation under the water.
Some people may think that scuba diving is a difficult sport, but there are many ways to enjoy safe diving for any age or gender.
Since everyone has different tastes, everyone can find different diving tastes, not only for depth and time, but also finding different big/small animals, corals, topography, enjoying silence, zero gravity, water flow, etc. etc.
Diving can be your lifelong activity. Join us for your diving experience. It could be an opportunity to find a new step!”.
Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Like everyone else. -Margaret Mead-

Even Vogue, considered by some a tome of fashion wisdom, advises that white can always be in style, even putting forth a guide to seasonally appropriate pieces in ivory and cream.
